- Caption: "Decoration day in Oakland Cemetery, 1900: Some 48 years ago this photograph was made in Oakland cemetery on Decoration Day, April 26, by Charles Killian, who developed and fixed the glass plate negative. The negatives is as good today as it was then. The photo shows the police squad in charge of Officer J. L. Beavers at the extreme left. The photo was made on the thirty-fifth anniversary of Joe Johnston's surrender to Old Firebug in North Carolina, according to Mr. Killian, who submitted the photo to The Atlanta Journal. He resides at 2259 Cottage Grove ave., S. E. July 18, 1948"
