- Newspaper caption attached to print verso: "Yard Office Of Seaboard Yards In 1897. In this old photo made around 1897 of the yard office of the old Seabord railroad yards between the waterworks reservoir and the N.C. and St. L. railroad are T.W. Coogler, yard clerk; R. Schmidt; J.A. Scott, telegraph operator; J.W. Carrie, telegraph operator; W.R. Purtell, transfer platform; J.W. Rogers, inspector; and H.W. Magee, yard conductor. The picture was submitted to The Atlanta Journal by J.W. Carrie, of Kennesaw, Ga., who was telegraph operator from 1892 to 1910, and appears in the photograph. He will receive $5 for his contribution." Caption date-stamped "Feb 22 1948." The print in the AJC Archives is probably from 1948.
