She discusses teaching at the Dekle Branch school, a one-room schoolhouse in Metter, Georgia, and at Montieth Elementary, East Broad Elementary, and Haynes Elementary schools in Savannah. Also includes discussion on the Powell Laboratory School, the Ambrose shrimp factory, and the 1940 hurricane that struck Savannah.
