Civic Magazine covers the efforts of the World Changers organization, a Christian youth mission group that repairs homes in Savannah. Coming every summer since 1992, teenagers in World Changers come from around the southeast to fix up sagging porches, leaking roofs, and install wheelchair ramps. Alderman David Jones praises the work that World Changers do in an interview. Segment two: National Night Out, 2:22-7:26. Civic Magazine covers the 9th annual National Night Out in Savannah, a celebration that aims to engage Savannah's residents with their local police force and fraternize with their fellow Savannahians. There are also many activities for children. Interviewees and speakers at the event include Alderman Clifford Hardwick, Savannah Police Department (SPD) Lt. Carl Ramey, Mayor Susan Weiner, Metropolitan Neighborhood Association President Sadie Brown, and Alderman David Jones. Segment three: Summer Lunch Program, 7:26-12:01. Civic Magazine covers Savannah's Summer Lunch Program, a tradition stretching back more than 25 years and a collaboration between the city of Savannah and the U.S. Department of Agriculture. This allows Savannah's children to enjoy nutritious lunches over the summer just like they can during the school year, and provides over 120 summer jobs. Interviewed regarding the program are Summer Lunch Program Coordinator Floyd Morris, Summer Lunch Program worker Henrietta Buxton, and Alderman Dr. Clifford Hardwick. Segment four: Race Across America, 12:01-22:00. Civic Magazine covers the Race Across America, an annual summer cross-country bike race that culminates in Savannah. Men's solo race winner Rob Kish is interviewed about his race experience. At a ceremony celebrating the conclusion of the race, Savannah city officials celebrate the competitors and organizers. Speakers include Public Information Director Cathy Long, Mayor's Executive Assistant Bob McAlister, Paul Scott of the Savannah Sports Council, and Mayor Susan Weiner.
