- Hosted by Charlesetta Bisard. Segment one: Recycling in Savannah, 0:00-9:04. The city of Savannah in conjunction with the Chatham Board of Education announces a new drop-off recycling program. Civic Magazine covers the press conference for the announcement. Speakers at the press conference include City Manager Michael Brown, Sanitation Bureau Chief Horace Magwood, Mayor Floyd Adams, Jr., and Patrick Russo of Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools. There is a demonstration of school children using the recycling bin to recycle various items. Segment two: Youth Future's gift presentation, 9:04-12:21. At the 2nd District town hall meeting, Alderman Gwendolyn Goodman presents Youth Futures with a $500 check which she was awarded for her work in education. Youth Futures is an organization that works with Savannah youth. Goodman gives the check to Youth Futures president Bernie Polite. Polite speaks about the generosity of Alderman Goodman and accepts the award for Youth Futures. Segment three: A Georgia song, 12:21-18:39. Alderman Pete Liakakis welcomes the Meadowbrook Elementary third grade class from Augusta to Savannah for the Founder's Day celebrations. The class has written an original song about James Oglethorpe the founding of the Georgia colony in Savannah which they sing for city officials at town hall. Mayor Floyd Adams, Jr. and Alderman Clifton Jones are also present and welcome the students.
