- Hunter Field, Savannah Municipal Airport, Savannah, Ga. Verso: Hunter Field, Savannah Municipal Airport, Savannah, Ga. is named in the honor of Major F. (Od.) Hunter who is a world war ace. The field is the largest on the Eastern Sea Board and has three one mile runways with Federal Approved Shop, Flying School, Charter Service, Radio Beacon, Weather Bureau, and all modern equipment which makes it one of the most modern flying fields in the country. This colorized postcard, postmarked January 8, 1940, depicts an aerial view of Hunter Field (Hunter Air Force Base).
