- Annotated on back: The low house in Lafayette Square Headquarters of the Georgia Society of Colonial Dames of America Savannah, Georgia. Andrew Low an Englishman owned and lived in this old Residence. From here Thackeray wrote in 1855, 'I write from the most comfortable quarters I have ever had in the United States.' Here General Robert E. Lee paid his last visit to Savannah in 1870. This colorized postcard depicts the front facade of the Andrew Low House.
