Opening 3
It's been a well-kept secret...
but now, we're taking off the
wraps.
4 Opening
In President Stuart Gulley's first few
months at LaGrange College, he said
that one of his goals is to begin remov-
ing the "veil of anonymity" that sur-
rounds LaGrange College, one of
Georgia's oldest independent institu-
tions of higher learning.
President Gulley said the College's
involvement with the 1 997 Olympic ath-
letes made him aware that the College's
visibility and name recognition overseas
may now be greater than it is in Geor-
gia.
"We have the exciting challenge of
letting persons in Georgia, the Southeast
and the country know the gem LaGrange
College is," President Gulley said.
LaGrange College has been a well-
kept secret. Now it's time to take the
wraps off.

6 Opening
What do you think is the best kept
secret about LaGrange College?
Opening 7
fViericis
There are many reasons that LaGrange College should not be kept a secret,
students interviewed said. The campus here is small enough that almost every-
one knows everyone else. People are friendly and it's easy to make friends in
class or just sitting on the patio.

10 Opening
Amy students say they chose LaGrange College because of its size. They reasoned
hat a smaller college would offer smaller classes and more personal contact
yith their professors ... and they found they were right. Faculty and staff are
billing to spend time during or after classes talking to their students and the
tudents appreciate feeling they are "part of a family."
Opening 11
dorm life
A very real part of the college experience for the traditional student is living in a
college dorm. LaGrange College students appreciate the quality of their build-
ings and love to share time, clothing and food with their newfound friends.

campus
he LaGrange College campus should not be kept a secret. "It's beautiful," stu-
ent after student interviewed on the Quad said. Seasonal plantings enhance the
rchitecture of historic Smith Hall, the chapel built with elements from the old
irst United Methodist Church, or newer structures such as the Lamar Dodd Art
!enter.
Opening 15
parking
Students said parking should be a well-kept secret. For classes after 8 a.m., stu-
dents arrive on campus at least an hour ahead of time to fight for a parking spot
on the hill.
