VOLUME FIFTY-TWO
I don't want you to tell me
That life is beautiful.
I want my eyes to feel it.
I don't want you to tell me
My smile will last.
I want to see it
Shining above my world.
And with every day
Looking back,
My feeling dwelling,
And my memories whispering
"This is College Life"
G. Y.
In every bush a word is hidden.
In every Rose a smile is lying.
We walk through life
Often we forget that yesterday
was once here.
We even forget to smile.
Time takes away everything . . .
Once I was a student
And my eyes sought life.
Like all that preceded me,
I am a follower . . .
I am a student . . .
I am a leader . . .
I am a LaGrange College freshman
I am an individual
I walk around new
In a world I want to be mine.
I am young.
Life passes near my eyes.
With every day I become aware
of my responsibilities.
I want to be
Everything I am capable
of being.
7
I am the Sophomore.
My tomorrows lie between four walls.
My tomorrows are in the vast plain of life,
And in the eyes of people I see
everyday.
People I will remember
In the shadow of a book,
Smiling, happy
and friendly.
9
I am the Junior.
Let me take you to my world
Where ready but yet not complete
I walk, smile
And acquire another chapter in
the book of my life.
12
13
They look at me
and they see me struggling
They see the fame
of their college in my arms
They caught this ball . . .
Th ey won this point . . .
They are playing
and I am the participant.

Dedication
Because he has a unique personality comple-
mented by a superb wit . . .
Because he remains an individual in a world
characterized by conformity . . .
Because he recognizes the strength, the tal-
ent, the ability in everyone and encourages
those qualities . . .
Because he is a counselor to those who need
his advice, a teacher to those who seek
his knowledge, and a friend to those who
desire his friendship . . .
Because of all that he has meant to us . . .
We dedicate the 1969 Quadrangle to
Dr. James Dodd
I am the student . . .
I realize that my education comes but
I also know that my studies must be supplemented
with extracurricular activities.
Th rough taking advantage of these activities I
become a well-rounded individual and a fuller part
of college life.
Participation in clubs, committees, Greek activi-
ties and service organizations round out my life.
Each group is designed to help me develop the
qualities of citizenship, leadership, and cooperation.
Organizations are an informative means of
broadening my interest in a particular field.
The toil, the effort, and the reward of these extra-
curricular hours belong to me . . . the student . . .
who has borne them in silence and in joy.

The 1969 Quadrangle worked
hard this year to produce one of
the best Quadrangles ever. Now
that all the pictures have been
taken, all the sections have been
completed, the Quadrangle Dance
is over, the Dedication has been
made, and the books have been
given out, we can look back in the
coming years to remember the joys,
hardships, and good times that we
shared in this year.

I am the student . . .
As a person I am not satisfied just to exist
to be.
I must also achieve and create something of
value, not only for myself, but for my college.
I have found my identity,
t am the class of '69
As a junior, a sophomore, a freshman I have yet
to find my true identity but I search.
I am every person at La Grange.
Through rivalry I have learned the value of unity,
for separated I find that I am weak.
I have many different faces but each contributes
to form my whole being.
I am the school
I am the student.

Only the Griffin
could symbolize
WestPoint Pepperell
. . . Because only the Griffin symbolizes all the things
WestPoint Pepperell is known for.
In ancient mythology, the Griffin, with the head and
wings of an eagle and the body of a lion, was the guar-
dian of treasure. He had strength. He had agility, vigi-
lance. In the textile industry, in our plant communities
and wherever we do business, WestPoint Pepperell is
known for those same qualities.
Proudly displayed on all our products, the legendary
Griffin tells the modern-day fact of the dedication to

Editor's Epitaph
!
Together, we have witnessed the birth
and maturity of another year. It has been
filled with grief, happiness, victory, and
defeat. All phases have been recorded in
this the 1969 QUADRANGLE. The stu-
dent, the participant, the leader, the fol-
lower; all are players in the experience of
our year. For us, it has ended; for you it is
just beginning.
We present this QUADRANGLE, that
it may hold for you many warm and won-
derful remembrances. To us, it symbolizes
a year past which can never be regained,
but in memory often relived.
The 1969 QUADRANGLE staff has at-
tempted to capture within this book all
phases of the experience of college life.
If in it, each individual can find a small part
of himself, then we have succeeded.
