LAGRANGE
COLLEGE
LaGrange
Georgia

LaGrange College . . . buildings . . . bricks . . . landscape ... but more, a growing community
of PEOPLE . . . students, faculty and staff . . . working together . . . learning together.

2

TABLE OF CONTENTS

There are occasions when People enjoy
each other's company . . . and each
other's efforts ... on stage ... on the
basketball court . . . over a circular
puzzle ... at a quiet vesper service
. . . on a state- wide youth project . . .

4

But there must be a time of leisure ... a time for People to relax ... a time to talk with other
People . . . over a cup of coffee or a coke in the student center . . . between quarters at the
Panther's basketball games ... or just to think in the midst of a crowd ... or to be completely
alone to catch up on last night's lost sleep.

Making friends and
sharing experiences . . .
choosing other special
People who will be
close associates throughout
life . . . supporting
fellow students and the
basketball team . . .
People just letting go . . .
and taking time to live . . .

The night brings a time for fun ... a time of
laughing and talking . . . the night also brings
a time of reflection ... a time for People to
walk alone in the darkness ... to escape from
other People ... a time to fall in love . . .

14

brought alive by People

A Dedication

a dedication to a man . . .

a man with a lonely job ... a man who carries

a gun . . . but always has a smile . . .
a man who is always there . . . because of his

genuine interest in the student body . . .
a man who believes in LaGrange College . . .

who knows LaGrange College . . .
and is an indispensable part of LaGrange

College . . .

ing rush personalities . . . go-go girls . . . beach
parties . . . barn dances . . . meeting more peo-
ple ... a rose-drama ... a road trip ... a
slave sale ... a swim in the Moose Club lake
. . . making decisions . . . forming new loyalties
. . . and memories of LC.

20

Hours of preparation and planning . . . high hopes for sunshine
but last minute repairs on rain soaked floats instead . . . then
the big Day, Homecoming, November 6, 1965 ... a flood of
Alumni . . . young and old . . . class of 18 ... The parade . . .
Sigma Nu wins again.

Judging of the twenty beautiful Homecoming Queen candidates
. . . last minute make-up . . . nervous excitement . . . the big mo-
ment . . . crowning the 1965 Homecoming Queen, Suzanne Forbes
. . . the dance . . . Bill Black's Combo entertains a big crowd . . .
Then it's all over . . . the excitement gone . . . things get back to
normal.

25

Student art shows . . . music and voice recitals . . . presentations
by the Curtain Raisers . . . "The Importance of Being Earnest,"
"Royal Gambit," "No Time for Sergeants," and "Once Upon
a Mattress" . . . All added to the entertainment and social ac-
tivities on campus.

Stunt Night . . . practice, costumes, imagination, originality, chants, and
laughter all combined as classes compete for the WAA trophy . . . Sen-
iors judge faculty members . . . Juniors stress "the importance of being
sincere" . . . Freshmen read dramatically through confusion . . . but Carmen
and the Black Swan steal the show and the Sophomores win again !

Sigma Nu Pi is known as the "Black Knights" for
which the fraternity was named years ago. Along
with heritage, the fraternity endeavors to follow
the traditions of knighthood as established in the
Crusade Era. In addition, Sigma Nu Pi promotes
the qualities of this tradition such as chivalry,
sportsmanship, manliness, being a gentleman at all
times, and displaying an attitude of a Christian person.
The motto of Sigma Nu is "Body Mind
Spirit" which, in every implication, seems to
summarize the foundation on which the fraternity
is based.

We as Kappa Phi Delta sisters
protect each other by uniting
in friendship and mutual
helpfulness.

Congratulations
LaGRANGE COLLEGE SENIORS!

Graduation from college is one of the important milestones in anyone's
life. Your degree is evidence of four years of hard work and perseverance,
and it is a key that will unlock many doors.

Callaway Mills Company is one of LaGrange College's most staunch
friends and supporters, and we are proud to offer our congratulations to
the 1966 graduating class for a job well done.

we create superior for many end-uses

Supplying fabrics for a great variety of end-uses is nothing new to us Hardly an American industry exists for which our people
have not developed and produced fabrics, of both cotton and man-made fibers Whether the needs are for fabrics that combine
with plastics, rubber, metal, and other materials ... or for fabrics to fashion delicate lingerie, comfortable sportswear, and durable
workwear, our specialists and facilities supply the answers. West Point-Pepperell's woven, nonwoven, and tufted products number
in the thousands, including such well-known brands as Lady Pepperell* sheets, pillowcases, and blankets, Martex' towels, and
Cabin Crafts* rugs and carpets. Our resources include 19.000 employees, 26 manufacturing and finishing plants, 14.000 looms,
675,000 spindles, and more than a century of textile experience.

Well, it's over . . . Done!!! We finally finished our "DAMN ANNUAL". And I think it's
a good annual. I'm proud of it anyway.

We've got full color in it for the first time in the history of LaGrange College. Also
more pages than any annual before us. By the way we sold 480 copies, a record also, I
believe.

We had some disappointments along the way but now that I look back they weren't im-
portant at all.

The Quadrangle Office became home for my staff. And we have so many good times to
remember hanging ash trays and mobiles pictures of the walls the scooter Saturday
night sex talks "Hell" and our other canine friends

Many thanks are due my staff for all the help they've given me. A very special thanks to
Drue who deserves as much credit as I do. Another special thanks to Stacy for making our
use of color possible. John was so dependable that I never had to worry about his sections.

And I want to give Rod a big "thank you" for shooting our color pictures; to Cathy for our
cover design and to Judy for all the help she gave me with the copy. But my biggest thanks
goes to Bill Baker for working miracles!

Thanks go to these and many others for getting THE 1966 QUADRANGLE to the pub-
lisher on time.
