President Smith graduated at Emory College in 1886 with

pliiees; was Principal of the Acudemic Department of Emory

1879-85; end has been Preaident of LaGrange Female College
for the peel twenty-two years.
MRS. RUFIS W. SMITH, Emeritus Professor of Astronomy and
Physiology
Studied lit Wesleyan institute (Cincinnati) for three years;
rivate pupil of Professor Crawford (Oxford, England, Uni-
sit.v) for two years. While she finished her education hefore
tng degrees to women was customary. Mrs. Smith has an
