- East elevation of the Alexander Telfair house on Barnard Street in Savannah, Georgia, overlooking Telfair Square.
Designed by William Jay, the Telfair House was completed circa 1820. In 1875, the last surviving member of the Telfair family bequeathed the house and its' contents to the Savannah Historical Society. It was the first house in Savannah to be designated as a museum, and it underwent renovations in 1880 to function as an art museum. The renovations were overseen by architect Detlef Lienau. - Local Identifier:
