Atlanta native Joel Hurt was a Trustee of the University of Georgia Foundation, a charter member of the University of Georgia Presidents Club, Director of the National Bank of Georgia, and Chairman of the Board and Executive Committee of Lovett School. Hurt also founded Joel Hurt Factors in 1952. He was the grandson of Atlanta businessman Joel Hurt, Jr. for whom Hurt Park and the Hurt Building are named. - Local Identifier:
