Georgia native Ernie Harwell began his broadcasting career on WSB Radio in Atlanta in 1940. He was the voice of the Atlanta Crackers baseball team until 1948 when He began broadcasting games for the Brooklyn Dodgers. He would later do play-by-play commentary for the New York Giants, the Baltimore Orioles, and the Detroit Tigers. He was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame in 1998. - Local Identifier:
