- In this interview, Kyoko Umemoto Moore describes her childhood in wartime Fukuoka, Japan. She relates the effect of the atomic bomb in nearby Nagasaki, where her father had to go to identify and claim the remains of family members. She recalls a brother who became a kamikaze pilot, firebombings, and the end of the war. She discusses her further education, meeting an American serviceman, and her life in the United States.
