- In this interview, William Bramlett recounts his history with the 8th Army Air Force in Europe during World War II. When he first tried to enlist before the attacks on Pearl Harbor, he was turned down because of a problem with missing teeth. After the attacks, that was no longer an issue and he was accepted into the Aviation Cadet Corps. He was placed in a College Training Detachment, where he studied meteorology, aircraft maintenance and theory of flight. After thirty-five missions, he and his crew became members of the "Lucky Bastard's Club."
