- In part one of this two-part interview, Henry Black relates his experiences as a Seaman 2nd Class in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific during World War II. He was a Quartermaster, served aboard LST 908, and describes life aboard ship, including sleeping under the stars while transiting the Panama Canal at night. He discusses aspects of Navy life, such as standing night watches and liberty.
