Oral history interview of William M. Clary

In this interview, William Clary recalls his experiences in the Navy in the Pacific during World War II. He served aboard LSTs 704 and 610 as a "hot case man" catching the spent cases from the 5-inch guns. He relates many experiences from his cruises, including suicide boats and feeding wounded men ice cream. After the war, he completed his education and received a commission in the U.S. Army, later transferring to the U.S. Air Force.
