- In this interview, William Clary recalls his experiences in the Navy in the Pacific during World War II. He served aboard LSTs 704 and 610 as a "hot case man" catching the spent cases from the 5-inch guns. He relates many experiences from his cruises, including suicide boats and feeding wounded men ice cream. After the war, he completed his education and received a commission in the U.S. Army, later transferring to the U.S. Air Force.
