- Description:
- In this interview Jim Moore recalls his service in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He recalls his early education and his brothers' military involvement; one was a Navy fighter pilot and one a Green Beret. His military operational specialty (MOS) was the funeral detail, including being on the firing squad. He relates how that influenced his philosophy. He discusses the difference between the public's view of the war in Vietnam and the war in Iraq, as well as the issue of race in the war in Vietnam. Also present in the interview is Fumi Showers, an Atlanta History Center intern and student at Agnes Scott College. Fumi offers her perspective on the United States.
