Paul Douglas Coverdell was an insurance executive who served in the Georgia State Senate from 1970-1989. He was the Director of the Peace Corps from 1989-1991, and was subsequently elected to the United States Senate in 1992. He served in the Senate until his death in 2000. - Local Identifier:
