- This recording opens with an introduction of the program by Boyd Lewis. The first segment, which begins at 1:06, is an interview with author Erskine Caldwell. Caldwell talks about the Great Depression; his early career in journalism in Atlanta; his collaborations with Ray McIver; the banning of his books; the reaction in Georgia to "Tobacco Road", and his memories of Margaret Mitchell. The second segment, which begins at 18:37, is an interview with photographer Mark Morrow, who photographed Erskine Caldwell and other southern writers. The program ends with a sign off by Boyd Lewis.
