- Description:
- This recording opens with an introduction of the program by Boyd Lewis. The entire program is about a legal move to reopen the trial of convicted child killer Wayne Williams. Williams was the central figure in the Missing and Murdered Children tragedy in Atlanta in the early 1980s and was convicted of murder. The program features audio excerpts recorded before Williams was arrested that include news programs, interviews of victim's relatives, and of Williams himself. Williams' attorney Lynn Whatley moved to reopen the case based upon their acquisition of investigative reports they say contain evidence that could've resulted in Williams' acquittal. Audio of many of Williams' other attorneys, including Ron Kuby, Alan Dershowitz, and William Kunstler are featured. Governor George Busbee; screenwriter Abby Mann; Reverend Joseph Lowery; Atlanta Public Safety Commissioner George Napper;, and Jeff Prugh of the Los Angeles Times; The program ends with a sign off by Boyd Lewis.
