- This recording opens with an introduction of the program by Boyd Lewis. The first segment, which begins at 1:32, is a rebroadcast of a "Southwind" program that aired in June of 1982 about the tradition of Sacred Harp singing in the South. The program includes audio excerpts of composer and producer Alice Parker, who is interviewed by author Carolyn Becknall Mann. Parker also talks about the effect of singing on the human spirit. The second segment, which begins at 11:25, is a rebroadcast of a "Southwind" program that aired in feature about the Southeastern Savoyards, which would later become Atlanta Lyric Theater. The program features audio excerpts from Rue and Sally Knapp, founders of the group; Tedi Langdon, a performer. The program ends with a sign off by Boyd Lewis.
