- Description:
- This recording opens with an introduction of the program by Boyd Lewis. The entire program is an exclusive interview with former President Jimmy Carter. Carter fielded questions on his initiatives with the Carter Center partnering with Emory University and the Centers for Disease Control to reduce rates of disease and death. He also spoke about the Carter Center's programs that facilitate conversations and seminars that included leaders in Middle Eastern countries. He fielded questions on the Presidential Parkway controversy over the construction of a four lane highway through an Atlanta neighborhood, and on his interest and involvement in Habitat for Humanity. The former president addresses a potential United States military conflict in Honduras or Nicaragua; and contrasts his job as President of the United States with his current work. The program ends with a sign off by Boyd Lewis.
