- This recording opens with singer Bessie Jones' rendition of "Preachin the Blues" and an introduction of the program by Boyd Lewis. The first feature of the program, which begins at 1:13, is a report on Georgia's sea islands. The feature includes performance audio of the Georgia Sea Island Singers, and interview clips of the leader of the group, Bessie Jones. Author Mary Jo Berron, and resident Douglas Quimby, who sings part of a spiritual. The second feature, which begins at 11:52, is a chronicle about an Atlanta elected state representative, and focuses on Atlanta representative Cindy Fuller as she attempts to negotiate and bargain with other lawmakers in the Georgia General Assembly. The third feature, which begins at 21:58, is a report about athletes training for the Special Olympics in South Carolina. The program ends with a sign off by Boyd Lewis.
