- View of the Atlanta Memorial Arts Center (later named the Woodruff Arts Center) during Snow Jam in Midtown Atlanta, Georgia.
Atlanta, Georgia received over six inches of snow in three days beginning on January 12, 1982. All surface streets and two-hundred miles of highways were immobilized in what became known as "Snow Jam." People were trapped at work or on their evening commute causing cars to be abandoned and people to flee to shelter on foot.
