The unincorporated town of Vinings is a northwestern suburb of Atlanta bordering on the Chattahoochee River in Cobb County, Georgia. Originally named Crossroads, then Paces after a ferry operator, Vinings received its current name in the 1840s from William H. Vining who constructed a railroad bridge there. Both the Vinings Jubilee shopping center and Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre are located in Vinings today. - Local Identifier:
