This is the first of a two-part recording. It features more than an hour of choir members from Reverend Breakwoods baptist church and Reverend C.C. Bennetts church singing folk, blues, and gospel songs. Songs incorporate piano, guitars, call and response, and choirs. No biographical information has been determined. The first two selections on this tape are sung by the ghildren's choir of the Babtist church located on Clarendale road and directed by Reverend Breakwood. The rest of the selections are sung by the choir group of Reverand C. C. Bennett in the home of Mrs. Beth N rwood o Submitted by Harvey Fitterman Come ye disconsolate where ever ye languish. Please contact an archivist for access. Professor John Burrison founded the Atlanta Folklore Archive Project in 1967 at Georgia State University. He trained undergraduates and graduate students enrolled in his folklore curriculum to conduct oral history interviews. Students interviewed men, women, and children of various demographics in Georgia and across the southeast on crafts, storytelling, music, religion, rural life, and traditions.
