- This is a series of film clips from the Joseph Richardson Jones film titled Parade of Progress of Colored Atlanta. This version of the film consists of short clips, some which repeat, of scenes depicting African American life in Atlanta, Georgia. The clips in this version were stitched together in no particular sequence. The original released film had an audio track while this version contains only a brief audio sequence around the 6 minute mark. The scenes include footage of football games played at Atlanta's Ponce De Leon Park and on the campus of Atlanta University. The games appear to include Clark College, Morris Brown, and Morehouse College, among others. Footage of football games include cheerleaders, marching bands, spectators, and homecoming ceremonies. Also included is footage of the Atlanta Black Crackers at Ponce De Leon Park and members of other Negro League teams such as the Memphis Red Sox and Kansas City Monarchs. Other images include Booker T. Washington High School, the grounds of Atlanta University, and Big Bethel AME Church on Auburn Avenue. The footage includes images of weddings, school children, and office workers including those of the Atlanta Daily World newspaper.
