Henry "Hank" James Thomas is a civil rights activist and businessman. In 1961, Thomas was one of the original Freedom Riders who rode interstate buses across the South to protest segregated facilities at bus terminals along the way. He was also one of the founders of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC). Thomas is currently President of Victoria Hospitality Properties Inc., which owns and operates Marriott Hotel franchises. Thomas also owns several fast food franchises. - Local Identifier:
