Charles W. "Pete" Greenlea (1916-1992) was a civil rights and neighborhood activist. He was the co-founder of Summerhill Neighborhood, Inc., an organization dedicated to the revitalization of the Summerhill neighborhood of Atlanta, Georgia. Greenlea served as the president of the organization until his death in 1992. Previously, he had served as the executive director of the Atlanta chapter of National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) from 1948 to 1968. After leaving his post at the NAACP, he was the editor at the Atlanta Daily World and worked for Economic Opportunity Atlanta. - Local Identifier:
