Sidney J. Marcus (1928-1983) served as a Democratic legislator in the Georgia General Assembly for fifteen years beginning in 1968. He represented a district encompassing the Buckhead neighborhood of Atlanta, Georgia. He was one of the founders of the Urban Caucus and advocated for legislation that benefited Georgia's cities. In 1981, he ran an unsuccessful campaign for mayor of Atlanta against Andrew Young. - Local Identifier:
