In 1972, Deborah Eason, with her husband Elton "Chick" Eason, founded Creative Loafing, an alternative weekly newspaper in Atlanta, Georgia that reports on local news, culture and entertainment. The couple later established Creative Loafing Charlotte in 1987 and Creative Loafing Tampa in 1988.
