Alberta Christine Williams King (1904-1974) was the choir director and organist at ebenezzer Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia. She was the mother of civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the wife of Rev. Martin Luther King, Sr. On June 30, 1974, she was assassinated while sitting at the organ at ebenezzer Baptist Church. - Local Identifier:
