Greek Revival; columns
Old Mercer Chapel was built in 1845 by David Demarest on the campus of Mercer University in Penfield, Greene County, Georgia. The University moved to Macon, Georgia, in 1871 and the chapel later became the Penfield Baptist Church. The Greek Revival building is included in the Penfield Historic District, which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. - Local Identifier:
