- View of the Union Depot, bordered by Wall Street, in downtown Atlanta, Georgia.
The first Union Depot, bordered by Alabama Street, Pryor Street, Wall Street and Loyd Street (later Central Avenue) in downtown Atlanta, Georgia, was built of brick in 1853 and destroyed in 1864 by the Union Army during the Civil War. The second Union Depot was completed in 1871 with a larger train shed made of iron, but built in the same location as the first. This second passenger depot was razed in 1930. - Local Identifier:
