- View of Atlanta Baptist Seminary (later known as Morehouse College), an African American educational institution located on Fair Street near its intersection with Lawshe Street, west of downtown Atlanta, Georgia.

Morehouse College was initially established as the Augusta Institute in 1867 in the basement of the Springfield Baptist Church in Augusta, Georgia. Its mission was to provide African American men with an education in the fields of ministry and education. In 1879, the Institute relocated to the basement of the Friendship Baptist Church in Atlanta and changed its name to the Atlanta Baptist Seminary. In 1885, the institution relocated to its current site in the West End community of Atlanta. In 1897, the institution changed its name to the Atlanta Baptist College and in 1913 it became known as Morehouse College. - Local Identifier:
