Lithia Springs, located in the northeastern portion of Douglas County, Georgia, was first incorporated in 1882 under the name Salt Springs. In 1886, resorts began developing around the town's famous springs, which supposedly had medicinal value. The town became known as Lithia Springs by 1892. In 2001, the town's citizens voted to dissolve the city charter and become an unincorporated area of Douglas County. - Local Identifier:
