James S. Akers (1855-1923) was a cotton broker in Atlanta, Georgia. He was a partner in the company Inman, Akers & Inman from 1896 until his retirement in 1915. Samuel M. Inman originally founded the company in 1876 as Inman, Smith & Company. It changed its name to Inman, Akers & Inman in 1903, and finally to Inman & Howard in 1915. - Metadata URL:
