Thomas Whipple Connally (1809-1884) was born in Bakerstown, Alabama, to David Connally (1776-1848) and Elizabeth Christian (1777-1842). He married Temperance Arnold Peacock (1818-1896) in 1836, after which the couple settled in East Point, Georgia, and had fifteen children. Connally built a Methodist church on his property in 1845 that burned down in 1864 during the Civil War. A larger church was erected in 1921 and became known as the First United Methodist Church. - Metadata URL:
