Samuel Bogle Hoyt was born in Blount County, Tennessee. For nearly twenty years, Hoyt was one of the leading members of the Atlanta Bar, retiring in 1872. He served as the first judge of Atlanta in 1855, and later served in the banking industry. - Local Identifier:
