The Wren's Nest or Snap Bean Farm, officially known as the Joel Chandler Harris Estate, was home to Joel Chandler Harris (1848-1908), author of Uncle Remus: His Songs and His Sayings. The house was turned into a museum by benefactors including Andrew Carnegie and President Theodore Roosevelt. Built in 1870, the house is located at 1050 Ralph D. Abernathy Blvd., SW in Atlanta’s West End neighborhood. - Local Identifier:
