Bonaventure Cemetery sits on grounds that were originally the Bonaventure Plantation, home of the Mullryne and Tatnall families. The plantation became a public cemetery, known as Evergreen Cemetery, in 1847. It was purchased by the city of Savannah, Georgia, and renamed Bonaventure Cemetery in 1907. - Local Identifier:
