The Savannah Scottish Rite Temple building, known today as the Scottish Rite Masonic Center, was built between 1913 and 1923. Planning for the building began in the late 1880s, and by 1895 the various masonic orders of Savannah had bought the land. Incorporated in 1896, The Masonic Temple Association was to manage the building project. The project stalled by 1917 and was bought out and completed by the Scottish Rite Masons. - Local Identifier:
