The Unknown Hero of Allatoona Pass Monument commemorates an unknown Confederate soldier killed at the Battle of Allatoona Pass in Bartow County, Georgia, on October 5, 1864. The monument started as a simple headstone in 1880. The grave and monument were moved in 1950 to the present site and marked by a fence and railroad sign. - Local Identifier:
