- View of the residential building on the campus of the Gammon Theological Seminary, an African American educational institution located at the terminus of Capitol Avenue in the southern part of Atlanta, Georgia.
The Gammon Theological Seminary was founded in 1883 in Atlanta, Georgia, by the Methodist Episcopal Church and located in the southern part of the city at the terminus of Capitol Avenue. In 1958, the institution joined a consortium of historically black, denominational seminaries in Atlanta known as the Interdenominational Theological Center. Currently located in the West End neighborhood of Atlanta, Gammon offers a co-educational, graduate level education in theology. - Local Identifier:
