Dr. Archer Avery (5 Oct. 1847- 12 Sept. 1937) was born in Columbia County, Georgia. He served in the Confederate cavalry during the U.S. Civil War. He married Eugenia Avery (27 April 1862- 14 Feb. 1918) in 1898 and they had a son, Archer Avery, Jr. who was born in 1897. He was an Atlanta druggist and physician. They are buried in Decatur Cemetery in Decatur, Georgia. - Local Identifier:
