Built in 1806, Old College is the oldest building on the campus of the University of Georgia. It has been used for many purposes; a dormitory and boarding house space, classrooms, administrative offices, dining facilities, fortification and even a safe harbor for the U.S. Navy. Originally part of Franklin College, and named for Benjamin Franklin, it now houses the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences. - Local Identifier:
