John Slaughter Candler (22 October 1861- 9 December 1941) was born in Carroll County, Georgia to Samuel C. Candler and Martha Bernetta Beall. He was lawyer and judge in Atlanta, Georgia and a member of Kappa Alpha Order. He was married twice, to Marguerite Louise Garnie Candler (1862-1905) and Florrie George Anderson Candler (1863-1935). He had two children, Asa Warren Candler (1885-1929) and Alice Garnie Candler Guy (1893-1974). He is buried in Westview Cemetery in Atlanta, Georgia. - Local Identifier:
