Designed by Atlanta architect Edmund George Lind, the red brick, Queen Anne style Library was the first free public library in Georgia. Washington native Dr. Francis T. Willis donated a collection of books and funds to build the library in memory of his daughter. The central memorial window is made of Tiffany stained glass. The library, located at 204 East Liberty Street, was listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1972. - Local Identifier:
